Assembly Republican Leader Ed Ra and Congressman Mike Lawler will hold a press conference today at 10:30 a.m. at the State Capitol to rail against Democrats’ last-minute attempt to pass legislation opening the door to re-drawing New York’s Congressional maps prior to the 2028 elections. As the 2026 legislative session enters its final week, Democrats in the Legislature have stated their intention to introduce Constitutional amendments to allow mid-decade redistricting, a partisan power grab designed to rig New York’s Congressional elections.
